Construction Continues on the Landenberg Branch
It's been a while since I posted anything on may layout and I just wanted to update what I've been up to lately in regards to the layout. In the last few monts I have got the first layout section into operation, Trackwork and Wiring are completed, and scenery is under way. The fascia is installed and painted, and I scratchbuilt a wood trestle as practice. It won't actually go on this section, but there are several trestles in later sectiojns of the layout. Now for the pics.
First, an overall view.
Scenery Work
The area betwween the Landenberg branch and Rt. 82 has gone from an empty space to nearly completed land in the last week. I started with the small culvert under the tracks and worked outward toward the grade crossings. The scenery base is pink foam cut into thin strips with sculptamold on top. I then painted a brown acrylic color and covered it with sand. From there it is basic scenery with ballast and clump foaliage adhered with matte medium. The trees are small cedar twigs and still need foliage.
Here are some pics. Tell me what you think.
Trackwork Started on Landenberg Branch
I have finally begun laying track on the first section of my layout. I am using CV tie strips, and as of now they are all glued down and painted. Progress is Nice! The rail should be here monday according to the UPS tracking#. Then I can finally get trains running even if it's only back and forth six feet.
