WC 4514 update: Sound upgrade report:
https://youtu.be/P1KNRlAm5BI Finally getting my arms around the Loksound programmer. I had some success today I am going to celebrate it with you!
My new personalized throttle holders:
I saw these personalized Throttle holders on Luke Lemmons Facebook page. I thought to myself," I could use some of these," so I contacted Mike Polsgrove of Soo Parts fame and asked if He would come up with a design I had in mind. The next morning, Mike had a view for me in CAD. Later that evening he was printing up my throttle holder order. Four days later they arrived unpainted. I picked these up in the mail Friday, I bought some rattle can paint and some #6 pan head 1/2 inch sheet screws for mounting these to the layout.
Need some Wifi Throttle help
First of all, I apologize for this request. I use NCE. I am not an IT techie at all! I bought a Dlink router and installed it yesterday and configured it through my laptop. I didn't have a long enough ethernet cable to reach my desktop. I click to start the jmri server and I get this message: "unrecoverable error encountered." java.lang. No such field error. HTTP2. then the program stops on the laptop.
My Junk Box hero part 2 continued:
Here are a couple more photos of today's progress:
A Resurrected Geep:Creating a Junk Box Hero!
After being out of the hobby for 20 plus years I found a home I could rent and place my WC Kimberly Sub 2.0 switching layout in. The last 3 years have been spent building the benchwork and getting trackage functional. With the coming of Easter which points to the resurrection of the body and spirit, I thought I would expand that theme to my need for motive power to run the layout. I have hoarded buying engines for the bucket list layout that has left me with a vast resource of parts to draw from.
My SDL39's are no longer shelf Queens:
I apologize for the long absence. I have been building my bucket layout for nearly two years now. The video today is the end results of the second professional decoder install. To keep the story short the first one did not go well. A "six week turn around turned into nearly two years of "I mailed them Monday they should be there Friday."
Day one Progress:
I got the opportunity to start the new layout yesterday and I thought I'd share some day one photos. With a larger space the new layout "ate" all my old layout lumber in about 8 hours. I decided I'd build around all the major obstructions first. As mentioned yesterday drain pipes and water heater are scheduled to be moved unfortunately there is nothing I can do with the dryer exhaust hose unless someone out there has a solution I am not aware of.
My good friend James:
I have just finished day 2 of benchwork on my Neenah Project. My friend James arrives after a long day at work and brings me some saw horses from another friend to help aid in my building project. James always arrives with a friendly smile then comments on the new house we just moved into. So I take him downstairs to the "train room" and he immediately gets excited about my project and enquires where Neenah is going. Then you see him turn analytical after I explained the track plan further. He agrees with me on the trouble points and we discuss those.
The Neenah Project:
Today is the start of "The Neenah Project." This will be a model railroad built in a rented home that comes with some design issues. Stairs come down in to the center of the space. The "east" Half the basement is finished the "west half" is roughed "roughed in." The east side is wide open with a space of 11 foot 6 inch wide by 27 feet long. The west side is split into 2 separate areas the left a unfinished room and the right side the utility room which includes furnace/water heater/ washer dryer.
