More On Local Train Sales

December 13, 2009, Once again, we have a nice turnout, not a lot of sales, but I did buy a whole bunch of HO scale buildings for $3 each, as two ladies from our club were selling off buildings from an estate, the proceeds went to help financially enhance the West Hernando Central Model RR.

At the end of the day, I was able to get the rest of the buildings that were left on the table for a mere $20.00, so I not only got some decent buildings, but also got some ebay fodder in the process.

Local Train Sales

Since Dana Jackson, owner of Dana's RR Supply in Springhill, Florida opened his doors in 2001, every year during the old phart season, (sorry, snowbird season), he has held a monthly train sale and meet, while this concept probably isn't anything new, he is the first hobby shop owner that I have ever known to do something of this nature, at least as far as model train hobby shops go, I've seen it done with model cars, but never with model trains.

E Unit Parts On F Units

I was recently blessed with 3 P2k E8/9 bodyshells, these have come in handy as I work to do some detail work on some of my older F units, these bodyshells are complete, other than the frame and drive that didn't come with them.

Finally, some Staycation Time

Its that time again, when I get a few daze off from that thing we call work! I call it slavery! Finally passed the inventory, finally passed the summer, yes, its that short, slow time between September and Christmas season, which starts officially on January 1st, (as far as the boss is concerned!),

Weathering 101 The Athearn Covered Gondola Project

Been awhile since I did a blog, so I'm catching up a little today.

Withlacoochee River Report

Here is the lastest Withlacoochee River Report, the blog that will highly offend one with my compelling rhetoric!

I'm Still

Pulling carpet up, its still got dampness in it as well, got most of it up throughout the living room, been facebookin' too much, but have gotten some things done, I'm working on putting an interior into my old Rivarossi  D&RGW smoothside coach, and then making my smoothside RPO runnable, seems after putting Athearn trucks on it, complete with the talgo coupler system they come with, that the car derails on a particular curve at the bottom of the grade, that won't work, will have to remove the trucks, snip off the coupler pockets and then body mount my Kadee's.

In the Aftermath

After a devastating flash flood last weekend, I'm still pulling carpet out of the living room of the house, The train room was also flooded, but naturally, the railroad sits high, and none of the trains or electronic equipment was effected, it will probably be a few more weeks before I get back into my regular mode of doing videos and such, I do have a video which was posted immediately after the flood took place...

5721 Is Coming Along Nicely

Still a lot of work to be done yet, as I need to do some fine work on the silver on the bottom, and line it up properly with the stripe, I still need to add details like handrails, MU hoses and the like, also need to finish up the lighting system by adding a switch and battery holder, so far this unit now has window glazing, a Genesis interior with an engine crew, windshield wipers, and American Limited diaphram and close coupling kit installed.

Heads Up, Fresh Decals Arrive

Fresh new decals have arrived at the Withlacoochee River Rwy, and painting another F unit, (or another few F units for that matter) has commenced, I should have my newest done by the end of the week.....
