Baby steps!

I added paint to the masking tape and it took on a whole different feel.

I am using many of the techniques Joe describes in his video building Tenmile Creek. I had never used masking tape to cover the frame work, but it works so well.

With so much vertical walls to cover with plaster, I am going to try a different technique to applying the base plaster coat. I will let you know if it works.

Happy New Year to you all!

Thanks a lot for all I have learnt this past year.

I hope to begin my layout this new year. I will need a lot of advice and help (to make things worse I am French, and so I have an awful lot of things to learn).

Best to you all.

Gerard.

Wilmington & Northern Branch : Creating a new timetable

My current timetable I use on the W&N is set for a 3 hour session with a 4:1 fast clock using 12 hours of the timetable.  I only have 12 hours worth of trains and operate the same schedule every session.  The current session has 4 first class passenger trains, 6 2nd class through freight trains and 2 3rd class locals.  Currently no extras are operated.  It is designed to keep two road crews busy.  In addition there are two  yard engines

Grizzly Creek & Grumpy Flats RR

I have been enjoying learning from everyone on this forum and now it is time to start building the Grizzley Creek & Grumpy Flats Railroad. The initial layout will be a shelf unit to experiment with different modeling techniques.

How to Change Detail Number Boards on Athearn F3's

I am modeling the Frisco in HO scale and there are a limited number of diesel models available.  I have several sets of Athearn F3's and some of the F3A's have the same number. Does anyone know how to change the number on the number board or replace the existing number board?

Thanks.

Motive Power

I spent some time between holiday celebrations adding DCC decoders to some older engines to flesh out the Great Western motive power fleet.  While I am striving for prototypical accuracy. modeling the GWRy motive power offers some challenges,

Truck Dumps, Tipples and Prep Plants

Thought I'd start a thread and see if we can get some forum members to post pictures of truck dumps, tipples and preparation plants that they have constructed. So here goes.

Runaway Loco!

While working to correct track connections for power, I ran into another problem. I have several sections of track working just fine and thought I'd try out the jump power packs I have wired. Here's the scenario and the problem:

LVN - Switcherama

Switcherama is my new operating concept that is designed to give all operators a continuous running experience on the LVN.  It is an alternative to the standard trains that are scheduled on the LVN and provides interest and variety for the operators at one session.  Thirty-two strips of paper are created.  Each has a switching move which includes a pick up and drop off from an industry to a yard or from yard to industry or industry to industry or yard to yard.  The dispatcher controls the operation by giving the train orders (strips of paper) one at a time to each of
