@Russ - here we are:

Tom Miller used much of the foam product from Joel Bragdon and that was where I remembered the name. One of the unusual uses was the removable access panel on Tom Miller's layout. The panel is vertical under the fascia and is so well done that it is difficult to see the separation from the permanent area. There are two video's of Charlie's interview with Tom on his layout in the MRH Theatre, in case you have not seen them.

(Edit: Corrected name - Joel Bragdon)

Bill,

the best compliment you could give me is saying you found the article of use, hands down. I hope Gorm works out for you as it did me.

I think you're idea of going with a smaller, 30" long module is smart, my 4' ones were starting to become a bit unwieldy there towards the end. Don't over engineer them either like I did mine, probably a single (or no) cross section would work fine!

I didn't know there were two different cross ties - that would explain my shortness. Ah, the things you learn.....

Please start sharing your progress though, I'd love to see it, and I'm sure others would as well.
