Important Note to Internet Explorer or Safari users on a PC / Mac: Please right click (ctrl-click on Mac) and select "Save target as" (IE) or "Download link as" (Safari) to save the PDF to your device instead of opening it in your browser. HTML5 compliant browsers like Chrome or Firefox will automatically save the PDF to your device when you click the link. Also on Macs when using Safari, holding down Option while clicking on a link will force it to download instead of displaying.

Same quality for how long?
Joe, I have had the impression that the Standard Edition had lower quality, at least for the first years. When did that change, if there once was lower quality.
I would like to change the issues on my mac.
BTW.
I always download the issues to my NAS. Then copy them to my PC, Macbook, iPad (via Goodreader) and android phone (via EZ reader).
As of Gen 2 - January 2013
As of Gen 2 (Jan 2013) the Standard edition image quality became the same between the two versions. So there's no benefit to downloading the Embedded edition from that date forward unless you are on a Windows PC.

Thank you
Thank you, Joe!
And even if I am on my Windows PC, I will still be able to open the vidoes in YouTube in my browser, isn't it so?
Yes
Yes, KnuT, that's exactly how the STD edition works.

Joe, did you change the links
Joe, did you change the links on the videos on the Standard Edition? I can now click the video links and they play! I didn't used to be able to do that.

Nope
Nope. They're the same as they've always been since Gen2 ... Jan 2013.
We get emails every so often thanking us for fixing someone's problem with the magazine, and we just have to grin. We generally didn't change a thing. Computers and the web are complicated things and the mix is constantly changing if you apply the OS updates or add/remove software. There's also changes happening out on the various internet nodes between us and you as well. Whatever was blocking it has changed.
The reverse is also true. Things can be working fine one month and then break the next and we won't have changed a thing. I have lost count of the angry emails we get from people complaining that things were working great so why did we have to go and break things? Generally, we haven't changed a thing, and next month it will probably work fine again.
Sometimes I'm amazed it works as well as it does!

Just what I thought
Joe, that was what I tought. Just wanted it to be spoken out clear.
I find I have very seldom problems wiht the issues.
It is a great Magazine. The price is right
I usually watch the videos on my TV via YouTube on AppleTV.
Much better than watching on the computerstuff, and much better sound due to my cinema-system.
Thank to Joe, Patty and all the others who are making this great magazine
Thanks, Joe
Our local ISP resource must have fixed the problem with our Brighthouse connection. In any event, it now works!

Thanks for the confirmation.
Thanks Joe.
That will save a lot of space on my iPad. I'll download the standard editions for my iPad, but keep the embedded for the PC. Keep up the great work.
