MRH Issue 2 - PREMIUM Edition - Release notes
STATIC COVER - BUT ARTICLE LINKS THAT WORK!
You'll notice immediately with issue 2 that we went to a static image cover instead of a Flash movie. You still get the nice music flourish, and as a new feature you can click any of the article cover teasers and immediately jump to the article of interest!
It's practically impossible with current technology to get links that jump into a PDF document from within a Flash movie, so we dropped back to a less "flashy" cover (sorry about the pun) in order to get cover teaser links that work! We feel the trade-off's worth it - and we hope you agree.
PESKY ADOBE READER QUESTIONS
When you first open up the PREMIUM Edition in Adobe Reader 9, it will ask if you want to go to full screen - we recommend you say yes, and that you check the "remember my choice for this document" checkbox. The PREMIUM Edition looks nice and reads especially well at full screen.
The cover will also ask if you want to play the rich media included - again say yes, and also say "remember my choice for this document".
Once you're past these two questions when you first open up the PREMIUM Edition, you're good to go until you click on a link - at which point Adobe Reader will ask if you want to allow going to the internet on this link - again say yes and also check the "remember my choice" checkbox.
CLOSING THE MAGAZINE WHEN DONE READING
To close the MRH PREMIUM Edition when viewing it full screen, click the Index link on the bottom and then click the Exit Document button at the top of the dashboard.
You can also click the Toggle Full Screen button on the dashboard to get the menus to come back and then do whatever you want from there.
Finally, pressing the Esc key exits full screen mode and brings back the menus.

RICH MEDIA IN THE PREMIUM EDITION
Because the images in the PREMIUM Edition are much higher quality, you can zoom in up to 200% and most images will not pixelate - but will remain intact and show more detail. Try it on articles like the Panel Side Hoppers piece. You'll find those prototype photos look quite decent at 200% and you can study the details!
Try magnifying photos with a printed magazine! If you magnify a printed magazine photo by 200%, you start to get a bunch of dots, with little extra detail visible ...
PREMIUM EDITION ON THE MAC?
If you're willing to download and install Adobe Reader "bloatware" on your Mac, and you're willing to fight with making sure Adobe Reader doesn't replace the generally preferred PDF Preview feature on the Mac, then our Issue 2 PREMIUM Edition actually works well a Mac with Adobe Reader 9.1. But if you prefer to use Preview on your Mac to view PDFs, then stick with the LITE Edition.
