Locos - Rolling stock (general)
Yard scene needed for diorama; for switchers
I have five yard switchers that I run for fun only, as they do not belong in a small branch line terminus.

I'm looking for ideas to create a small shelf diorama to display my switchers on.
Something that would indicate it is obvious it is in a yard. Perhaps a yard office or a water column between tracks?
What's on your workbench? February 2020
January was a rough month to start the year off with and I'm ready for work this month, albeit a few hours early. That extra day on the end will certainly make a difference! Let's see what you've got.
Bowser Sound Equipped Locos
Folks,
Wondering if anyone has any experience with Bowser sound equipped locos (newer ones)? I was looking at this one, a just released Baldwin DS 4-4-1000 loco (HO scale):

I'm wondering how they perform (slow speed, sound, etc) as compared to, say, Stewarts or Genesis locos? No one at the local club, or the local NMRA group, seems to have any experience with Bowser locos.
Thanks!

Truck tuning question ?
I'm sure this has been discussed before and I have searched for the answer but come up empty.
I would like to know if there is an acceptable amount of side to side play of the wheel sets in a truck ?
I bought some intermountian wheel sets to replace my old BBox and MDC rolling stock wheel sets and they seem kinda sloppy in most of my trucks ? (around .025-.030 )
They don't fall out and the roll very well, but just seem loose side to side ?
please ID the mfr of two HO wrecking cranes
Recently visiting a nearby model railroad club, I saw these two models of heavy-duty wrecking cranes. The models are probably more than 5 years old (maybe much more.) No one there could identify the manufacturers.
I do know these are not the Gould/Tichy 120-ton models.

Pulpwood Loads & Jigs
Pulpwood logs are a significant traffic item on the Algoma Central, and a type of load I'll need quite a supply of for my flatcars and gondolas.
Less than 3 weeks left - Crowd funding the production of model railroad products - HO box and auto cars
I don't think I've seen anyone try to use crowdfunding to raise the capital needed to bring a model railroad product to market, but here is an example.
Prototype Junction. a new company, is raising funds to tool an assortment of HO scale Pratt-truss single-sheathed box and auto cars. These plastic cars would be available RTR and as kits. Parts would be made available also.
Here's the link if you want to learn more about what they are doing and why:
