Re-building the ColdStor module - step by step

Whew!  Busy holiday week!  I hope everybody had a good one.  I managed to climb out of my food induced coma long enough to work on rebuilding the my FreeMoN module this weekend.  I took a bit of video illustrating the way I'm going about it.

The first part covers putting together the faceplates for the ends of the modules.

Perfect Gussets

Still working on the Morris Benchwork...

I needed some gussets for a weak part of the Morris benchwork. After looking in my offcut bin for a piece of plywood I could use, I decided I didn't want to go out to the shop to cut the parts (It's blizzarding!) so I drew them up and 5 minutes later I had perfect gussets!

Two itms to discuss. Suydam kits and free-standing supports for double deck contstruction.

I have constructed several Suydam cardboard kits with success by painting, adding additional interior support and sometimes adding windows and door from other kits.

Does anyone have any good ways to make support legs for double deck construction that are frestanding?

Cool video for Fremo-N yard video

Other than being a really cool portable workbench system, I think the main part with it's flip up table, shelf and rolling storage would make an awesome system to build a Fremo staging yard on top of.

Monocoque backdrops

In the quest for ultra thin backdrops down the center of my peninsula I'd been planning to laminate a couple of sheets of masonite back to back. Alas, a trip to the big box stores (and a higher end lumber yard) shows that 1/8" masonite/hardboard seems to have waves/ripples in it. This made me apprehensive that I'd have trouble getting it flat and straight, especially for the straight sections of the backdrop between curves.

Another update on my micro layout

Ive finally got all the benchwork in place and all the track laid. The latest post on my blog shows the progress.
