removable industrial switching area over hidden class yard lead?
I cruised the forums and didn't find much relevant to this, so a few thoughts from y'all would be helpful.
I have room to add a several track active classification yard, about 8' long. Conventional wisdom would have an 8' lead serving it.
So how much grief would I cause myself by having the most distant 6' of that yard lead hidden under an industrial switching area?

What's on your workbench - June 2020
A new month with new projects. Let's see what you have!
My latest: A Westerfield ATSF Bx-13 boxcar with some additional wood weathering to go. With the virus and social plans on hold for the summer, it's a great time to build out all of your kits collecting dust!
What is your experience packing structures for moving?
In anticipation of a move, I am looking at packing a number of structures. I hope people will share their experiences both good and bad. (It is always good to know what doesn't work!)
Packing rolling stock is relatively easy, especially if you have original boxes.
I'm about to find out if my sectional layout construction (almost TOMA) works for moving.

Trackplanning --> Hand Laying : Geometry headspace?
Dear MRHers,
I was musing over some of the recent threads RE Handlaying VS RTR trackwork options,
and that one of the significant benefits of handlaying turnouts was
"the modeller is not limited to fixed, whole-number, or only the frog-angles-commercially-available geometry".
Now, I'm not saying that this isn't true from a raw "what One can build" standpoint,,
but it did send me off down a kinda "chicken and egg" hole, IE:

I'll get this rolling with a close up photo of a locomotive I'm doing a First Look on.... until I took a photo, I hadn't even noticed the 74V sign.
Track cleaning car for dust?
Hi All, Does anyone know what a good track cleaning car for dust might be? My layout is adjacent to my wood shop so some drifting fine dust settles on the rails over a period of time. I can go over it with a dust cloth occasionally but that's not much fun so when running trains today I got to thinking about building a track cleaning car to push around the layout every month or so. Other than the dust rails are clean and not gunky so a dry cleaning method would be preferred.
