Layout tour
Sandpiper Bay Terminal, Paper Mill
This blog is a journal, documenting the building of this shelf layout.
Background
The first train for over a year runs on my layout
Hello,
dunring the last few days I wired the track of my Lochdubh terminus. Now I can concentrate my efforts for the turnout motors. I plan to use servos, in combinations with the MERG Servo 4 board. Today I could run the first locos and trains since January 2017 on my layout.

Video - test train up Keystone Hill (toward Telluride)
Let's try posting a video - this is test train on newly-scenic'd area, coming off the Ophir low-line, through what will be Vance Jct, and starting a 4% climb on the branch to Telluride.
Not sure this will work - but let's try...
Sandpiper Bay Terminal
This is the layout I've been working off and on for a little over 2 years. This is my second larger layout (beyond the size of a sheet of plywood), but this is the first one that was planned out better and hopefully will reach completion some day. It is not so large that it can't be built by one person.
Chicago Northside Layout S L O W L Y comes to life
A long time ago I'd asked for input on a layout design. I'd taken it all into consideration and quietly worked on it in the background. Finally trains started moving yesterday and everything seems to be working well. Here's an update as a way to say thank you to everyone who helped me get this far and an encouragement to all you who are slowly working on your layout. Don't give up!

A New Train is Added to the Layout & the Latest 3D Project Has Begun
I started building the station building and platform
Hello,
during the last weeks I added some additional storage space above my fiddle yard, and installed lights above the fiddle and Lochdubh.
I also started with the construction of the station building which is based on Mallaig Station, and the platform. I built these from styrene strips of different sizes.
