Pere Marquette locomotive needs a workout
As I look over my G scale items to run next spring, I came across my #1 gauge Pere Marquette locomotive and caboose. I have been on a quest to find rolling stock for it. I prefer passenger cars however I will take anything in 1/32 scale. So far no luck what so ever. I might just have to resort to having cars custom painted. I have no idea as to what that would cost.
I have enough curved track to set up an 8ft circle, but I don't have a transformer yet to power the track.
Success!
A new engine has entered the roster at the Euclid yard of THE GREATER NICKEL PLATE. Thanks to help from friends on this site, much sweating, swearing, soldering, testing, re-soldering, re-testing and praying. S-4 Number 12 is alive and running after installation of a new motor and a Z scale decoder.
Starting process for new layout
Now that I'm settled in our house after moving. I am ready to start the process of designing the new layout. Been considering Free-mo modules but not sure if this is the right dirrection.

I seem to be a little too dense to add photos to regular discussion forums. I wanted to share a couple of new photos on Driline WPF 1-13 thru 1-15 but can't figure it out. So here are a couple of new shots of my layout. By the way, comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Starting a Timetable for the 8th Sub
I've been drafting a timetable for the rapidly approaching start of formal operations on the layout. The following posts show some images of how it's shaping up. Formatting, wording and so on are copied from prototype WP timetables wherever practical. So far I'm working with a very abbreviated amount of information, four pages plus the inside and outside covers.
My review of the PBL PHOTO VIDEO STUDIO LIGHT KIT retailing for $59.95
Hey gang,
Many of us do photography and video of our model railroads and everybody knows that lighting is a key element in getting good shots. I recently purchased the PBL Photo Video Studio Light Kit for the bargain price of $59.00 and have been testing it out. You can read about the product at:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001D1KHW6/ref=oh_o06_s00_i00_details
Now it's been said that there is no way that something at this price can be any good, but you'd be surprised.
Terminology
On the advice of a club member, I went in search of an electronics shop yesterday for supplies needed to help convert my older engines to DCC. Not being well versed in electronics, I use a association memory tool to ask for things I am not familiar with; thus, on arriving at the shop, the conversation went like this:
" I'm here on the advice of a friend and need some 'Eric Claption' tape."
" We don't carry anything like that; this is an electronics parts store.

After all of the cardboard, taping and paint, it is time to apply the thin coat of plaster. I estimated I had about 30 square feet of area to cover and was not looking forward to slowly applying the thin coat of plaster by hand. I decided to try using a wall texture spray gun. It worked great!
I applied three layers of my plaster mix allowing each layer to set up before adding the next layer. The plaster was still wet, but solid to the touch.
Here are my pros and cons to the technique.

Modelling in the Land of Sand
I suppose I should start with an introduction? I started with trains more years ago than I care to remember, when around age 5 I received an 0 Gauge Hornby clockwork tank engine. A couple of years later this became a Hornby 00 gauge 3 rail layout, then a 2 rail, until I had around age 15, a roster of around a dozen locomotives, all UK outline.
