The Joy Of Cad
So, now that Highschool has come along I have had the joy of picking and elective class. I am deciding on pre-engineering and am learning the cad software. (Actually quite simple to me) and at one point I get to design a file for both a 3d printer and laser cutter projects. I want something for my modelling so any ideas on a good thing to try and design?
Playing with Atlas Track Planner
Here are three images of a 3.5'x10' layout. Minimum radius is 18" as typical and it includes a yard on one side and siding on the other (that side is a WIP and any ideas would work out great.)
My NMRA Train Show Haul
Here I am near the end and able to show off my haul I came in with $108 and am leaving with zero exact. The first thing I picked up was an older Athearn Special Edition SW1000 and Caboose set for $40 and found a decoder for $15. That is currently with Ken who offered to do a decoder instalation.
Can I Trust Him?
So I talked to Ken Patterson at the convention today (great guy by the way) and he is graciously doing a decoder install on it for me. I am not sure if I should be excited or nervous (I know he won't mess up) as when saying thanks and handing off the neigne he said tomorrow I am going to make you smile. So hopefully he doesn't overdue it.
The engine I got was a Athearn special edition in their scheme from a few years back looked great and was only $40.
