Does anyone know of a source for carfloat plans? I am considering lasercutting it in a mix of materials but a, looking for some basic dimensions of a simple compact bridge system and the basic detail of a float (could 3d print details) thanks for any help and if possible some of your own carfloat models,

School activities are now taking my model railroad time with the FRC competition:

Quite a big project building a robot to do this from scratch!

I just got home from my first operating session at the Dupage County Historical Museum in Wheaton. I started in the position of operating the hump yard that has operating retarders and motorized turnouts. Next up came setting a train up including rearranging cars and adding a caboose and engines. I also got a video of from on a train and the video is uploading now.

I got the minicam mentioned in a thread here on MRH for christmas I tested it first on the new N scale layout by me and my brother and tonight on a local club layout so I will be in for a treat. The temporary base one of two future halves of a depressed flatcar that is in the planning it is quite a Frankenstein and I am not sure if I want to really show the parts but here it is:

Here follows my weekend project a close to complete (or as complete as a MR can get) N scale layout for my little brother. It is more in the style of one used for display but a good starter layout none the less.
