This week on the Hitop Branch....

More news on my cleaner, simpler website, including a story about an RDC used as a school bus on the prototype, plus a story about "who's who on the Hitop". I like to add stories believe it or not to enhance the operation of my layout, to make it feel more prototypical, to bring back memories of past railroading days, or just to make it feel more "down home" to me. Please be sure to check out the site for these and more coming, and hope everyone enjoys......:)

Again, the website is here: http://hitopbranchmodelrr.com/

Recently on the Hitop branch.....

Recent action on my Hitop branch, as PC 7466 leads the Morris Fork mine run upgrade to Morris Fork, WVa, while an RS-1 still in NYC colors shoves loaded hoppers down the scale track in Dickinson yard....

Originally MR's "The Virginian " build

Several years ago the magazine had a project layout based loosely on a Virginian branch. I took the theme and ran with it modeling instead an ex-NYC/PC branch in West Virginia called the Hitop branch, as I model some NYC,but primarily Penn Central. In anticipation of this being published early next year, I set up a copyrighted website with a story behind the building of the layout, a history of the area, of course modeling photos from the first lumber cut to the layout today, and prototype photos from the era and area. I'm modeling 1968-1975.
