LA, Pasadena & Cucamonga RR: Roadbed, & Tracks installed
Hi all,
A long overdue update on the Pasadena RR. Some progress have been made and in this post i am covering laying down cork roadbed and tracks.
The roadbed is made out of 5mm cork sheets, depending on application the sheets have been cut to strips or laid in other rectangular shapes. Everything has been glued down with construction adhesive (similar to the no-nails glue) which was spread with a trowel.
Tracks are Peco code 83 flextrack with #6. #7 and #8 turnouts for the mainline and some #5 at a few industrial sidings.
LA, Pasadena & Cucamonga RR: Backdrops...
Hello everyone,
Following some work i finally got the backdrop finished on the Pasadena subdivision. Since this is a disposable backdrop (wont survive a move most probably), i went for a lighter construction. It is made using EPS foam (30mm) and PVC sheets for the coved corners. Painted with acrylic house paint mostly.
LA, Pasadena & Cucamonga RR, Benchwork Update
Hi all,
After spending the holidays doing benchwork construction all day (well almost :) ), i have reached a point where the benchwork is almost finished. I need to fasten the plywood subroadbed to the risers and then off to laying some track. I have spend a lot of time in making and positioning the risers correctly so that all the pieces align correctly and the slopes are to spec.
The benchwork and legs are all coated with a sealant following good advice from Joe.
Los Angeles, Pasadena & Cucamonga RR (HO Scale)
Hi all,
The new layout is officially underway. Following the design of a bigger layout for a future space, and using TOMA concepts I designed a layout for my current space which includes some key modules from the future layout along with some very few disposable modules.
