Downsizing the Jersey Northern

I have decided to down size my layout, I have been reading about downsizing here on MRH for awhile. The existing layout takes up most of my one car garage and I need more storage space. The layout is double deck point to point J shaped with the helix at on end of the J. Each level has a 4 track yard and two staging tracks the lower level also has an additional one track staging inside the helix. I have fourteen industries and two engine servicing facilities. You can see the existing track plan on my web site, https://jerseynorthern.webs.com under (the layout).

Sheet Metal Fabricating Plant

I started work on a project that's been on the back burner for a few years. Using the Walther's Superior Paper as a starting point I am constructing a large sheet metal fabricating plant. It will hide the AC return that protrudes into the layout area. There will be a tank car unloading track at the west end with multiple tanks. The east end will have two tracks that will enter that plant for delivery of raw materials and shipping of finished products. It will be about six feet long when all done and will be the largest industry on the layout.

Jersey Northern Railroad

Due to a derailment NYS&W SU99 is detouring over the Jersey Northern, here it is departing Franklin N.J. enroot to Port Jervis N.Y. on the Jersey Northern. The Jersey Northern is a freelance point to point HO layout. It connects the NYS&W at Beaver Lake N.J. and Conrail at Port Jervis N. Y., fourteen on line industries generate lots of traffic.
