CH&D RR "What If"," Heritage Herald Boxcar
To All: The Cincinnati, Hamilton & Dayton RR was a 640 mile line, that eventully had mileage in Ohio, Indiana and Illinois, that was formed in 1846. By 1917 it was controlled by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. I detailed, painted and lettered the "What If" boxcar. Reduced herald art work is mine. Photo by Elvin Howland. Yours, Elvin Howland/E. Retaining Walls
To All: Something that bugs me but probably shouldn't are retaining walls. It seem every model railroad
big or small has to have a retaining wall between a yard and another set of tracks or town. I have
traveled extensively and have yet to see this in the USA. They may be out there, but where?
BDT Reefer
To All: Today I present a Bourk-Donaldson-Taylor refrigerator car. This company transported fruits and vegetables all over the country from Colorado. I took this photo on Dennis Larson's San Juan Northern RR HO/HOn3 layout recently. An unusual color scheme to say the least! Does any one out there know who made this car? Yours, Elvin Howland/E.
