PRR Mail Storage Car

PRR Mail Storage Car

To All: I kitbashed this PRR Mail Storage Car (for transporting magazines and newspapers) by splicing two boxcars together. I painted and lettered the car. It is equipped with signal and air lines and high speed trucks for use in passenger trains. The model and prototype has double the brake components. Photo by Elvin Howland. Yours, Elvin Howland/E. First Coast Boxcar

First Coast Boxcar

To All: This 50 foot Athearn boxcar is an unofficial paint scheme I came up with for the First Coat Model Railroad Society, in Jacksonville, Florida, with sixteen members. We are building a two level HO scale layout in a 50 foot deep storage facility. I painted and lettered the car. Herald art work and photo by Elvin Howland. Yours, Elvin Howland/E. Northampton & Bath Boxcar

Northampton & Bath Boxcar

To All: The Northampton & Bath RR was a 6.8 Pennsylvania short line built in 1904 to serve the cement industry. By 1979 this traffic had disappeared so the line was abandoned. The line is now a Rails to Trails facility. The car is used on my layout to serve a cement plant. I assembled, detailed, painted and lettered this craftsman car kit. Photo by Elvin Howland.
