IAIS's West End - Atlantic Spur on a shelf

I've always wanted to model more of Iowa Interstate's approximately two mile long Atlantic Spur, the IAIS schematic of which is shown below:
IAIS's West End - fun Tsunami revelations - now with video

I mentioned this in one of the recent RailPro threads, but have been enjoying these changes so much that I felt they deserved more visibility. I don't claim to originate any of the information that follows, but have been a grateful consumer. Hopefully other Tsunami users find something useful here.
IAIS's West End - New automated car forwarding for modern layouts - freeware

Many of us who model modern times, i.e. the era in which prototype crews have worked from computer-generated reports rather than waybills and hand-written switch lists, have long struggled with finding a way to easily deal with car forwarding and operating session setup, while still creating prototypical reports from which we and our crews can work.

It was recently suggested that I break down my blog entries by topic or location to make them easier to find, since my original blog on the Iowa Interstate's West End at http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/9031 is getting a bit large and cumbersome. This post marks the beginning of my move in that direction.
The Iowa Interstate's West End
Thu, 2012-08-30 08:46 — IAISfan
I'm modeling the west end of Iowa Interstate's Subdivision 4 in May 2005 - the western-most 49 miles of the railroad from Atlantic to Council Bluffs, IA - and I thought I'd start a blog here to document the process, since this and the Yahoo Proto-Layouts list seem to be where I'm spending most of my on-line time these days. This is the first layout I've ever gotten much past the benchwork stage, so pretty much every step involves me asking a lot of questions and learning a lot.
