Hi,

January update, Christmas is over back to the building. Christmas present from my children, first time they have gotten me any RR stuff, and a fine first time if I say so my self. It is sitting on the return leg for continuous running of the layout (new section). More experimentation with Scenics Express products between the tracks, not to bad. I will get the hang of it yet. 

Virginian and Lake Erie (Rob in Texas) I just noticed your comment on last months post:

The 5 year plan - Is to completely rebuild the layout one section each year. So no tie in to old layout as it will be removed piece by piece as I go and all the material reused in the new layout. Why 5 years? I will be 65 at that time and will be close to retirement from GM so this will be the last layout for me.

Changes to layout:

November update for bench work in the new section - I am complete with the roughed in part. Wife says no more wood or foam work until after Christmas. We are hosting the family this year and I have to keep it cleaned up for the kids who will want to watch "Uncle Mikes" trains run.

I have started the 5 year plan . During my 2 week vacation the first of October I was able to clear & sheet rock a 12 x 13 area next to the existing layout. I have been able in the last three weeks on and off to complete bench work & shelving on the north wall of this area. I will post progress every month or so.

Been gone a while:

From my last post of trying a few things. I completed the Wood Loads & placed them on the 3 flat cars I have for them, did not quite fit right so I had some left over Wood Shop machinery so put them in the middle to take up the space. Replanted the Tulips next to the call box, looks, not bad. 

I have not posted progress in a while and defiantly did not accomplish my goal for this year. I have had major health issues for going on 8+ months and can barely get to work little own do anything on the layout.  Still not in good shape but the Dr. wants me do do something more than sit & read or play games on the computer.

So.....

Is there a way to do a word search of the blogs. I am always thinking I read something and want to find it again later but it takes forever to go through all the blogs to find it.

This is probably right in front of my nose....

The great re-coupling has been completed today. Finally got my order for the rest of the Fleischmann couplers from EuroRails today. All equipment that can be converted is now done.

Now on to the 2014 project. Can I get this done this year??? We will see.....took a year and two months for 2013 project...
