Kato modules
Took them long enough
Too bad they didn't make it
Too bad they didn't make it an injection molded plastic base and sides so it would better hold up to years of train show usage. I like the laser cut wood bases better because the seem more durable.

A few years ago, a guy in the Midwest (Cincinnati?) was making vacuformed plastic bases for T Trak.
I use black foamcore, cut into strips then lengths, and 1" 2 x 2 foot green EPS (Lowes) to build my modules. All it takes is a snap off craft knife and a hot glue gun. I clamp the foamcore to corners built from LEGO to keep them square as I glue them/ The foam is level with the top edge to protect it, and allows me to add some rolling relief if desired.
I even used this technique for my balloon modules, doubling the joints where needed and scoring the inside of the foamcore every inch and bending it for a smooth curve. Thanks to Prof Klyzer for the technique!
Below is an interchange module I made before discovering the green foam....

.The interchange above is an even triple module, not one of the "special" length junctions. As such, it doesn't require any "makeup" modules on the other side to fix the uneven length. I designed this to be usable to throw a yaed out off to the side of a "normal" layout, or to allow a free-form "out and back" shortline or branch with a balloon at the end. more details on my T Trak Wiki page, the Interchange Modules page, and the Balloon Tracks page.
