Found out about this now - it's kind of old news (last year), but worth sharing.

(Real) Railroad Photography

I received a newsletter from B&H Photo today and it had a link to an article titled 15 Tips for Better Train and Railway Photos.  Naturally I had to check it out.  It's not an all inclusive tutorial on shooting train photos, but it does have a few good tips.  But most enjoyable to me were the photographs embedded within the article, shot both in the US and the UK.  Thought I'd pass it on.

The Pine Spur Chronicles

What started out to be a simple new layout with a loop of track, inspired by the one-town layout design concept, has morphed into a railroad that I have become very excited about building. It is still a basic loop that will start and end in a four track staging loop and pass through the town of Waipahu (pronounced “why pa who”) where cars will be left for the branch line.

Weekly Photo Fun - Apr 28-May 4, 2019

Just noticed the new week's Photo Fun hasn't been started yet, so here 'tis . . . post 'em if you got 'em.

Train speeds and views.

On a German ICE train between Hamburg and Munich I was impressed with the speed we were going on the ground.  I know there are faster trains.  This is by far the fastest I have ever ridden.  The ride was very smooth and quiet as well.  Here are a few pictures from the trip.

172 mph!!!
