routes with Walthers switch machines
I am considering Walthers new servo switch machines for my new layout.Has anyone set routes using these. What I mean is want be able to align all the turnouts for a particular track in a yard with a single button push. Has anyone done this with the Walthers switch machines and if so how did you do it?

Digitrax Zephyr Xtra Troubleshooting
Scratching my head over intermittant running on my layout of engines. I am running a DCS 51 [Digitrax Zephyr Xtra] (one engine at a time) and experiencing stop-n-go performance after a short, smooth start. Pauses are for several seconds and then restores and continues for a longer length; pauses for a second or two and then continues smoothly the rest of the way around the layout.
DCC decoder CV setting recipes
TrainMasters TV members - On the next live TMTV session, Joe Fugate will bring up his DecoderPro loco roster and go over some of his best-practice CV settings in his loco decoders.
Want to see a particular CV setting Joe uses? Just ask!
Digitrax DCS51 strange error ***solved***
I get a "-bA-" on my Digitrax DCS51 display. Anyone know what that means? I can't find any info in the manual or Digitrax web site. Thanks!
Intermountain not responding
Hi all, I am somewhat new to this hobby and yesterday I was programming my intermountain dcc loco and just completely out of the blue it has bricked itself and is not having any power or sound emitted. The track is getting power and running fine as all my athearns are responding and running fine. I believe it something to do with the pickups or internal wiring somewhere which is a shame that a brand new out the box model is already broken in some way. If anyone else has any other ideas please reach of to me with them
LokSound 28 or 128 Speed Steps
Just curious, but have been wondering what speed steps most of you fellows with LokSound decoder equipped models use when operating your layout. 28 or 128?
I currently own 6 models with LokSound decoders and always use 28 speed steps. I program them using CV's 2, 5, and 6 so that at speed step 5, I'm running at 10 scale miles per hour (model takes 6 seconds to move 12 actual inches). Since my layout is a freelance end of branch switching layout slow and easy is the order of the day.
On30 Rail Truck circuit board
Anyone have a schematic or a pin diagram for the pcb included in the Bachmann On30 rail truck? Need to know which solder pads get track power, motor, and lights wires. Model completely disassembled for painting and all wires broken and/or shorted. Its a long story.
Small progress and DCC questions
It's been a while since I've done an update. I got married, so there hasn't been a done of progress on the layout. I do have all the turnouts I need finally! (ME turnouts are fairly hard to find right now, especially if you're trying not to pay 2x the cost for them)
How do the electroluminescent (EL) displays work?
Some of you may be familiar with Miller Engineering animated signs; they use an electroluminescent (EL) display, controlled by a small board they provide and then typically powered by a 4.5 V DC power supply or 3xAAA batteries.
The board is called an inverted I believe, and it features an obvious transformer. When they run they make a typical high frequency noise.
Purely out of curiosity, I'm trying to figure what's the tech behind it, and I'm not finding much info.
Decoder Pro and ESU Loksound V5 Issues
I bought a Rapido SW1200. It has ESU Loksound V5 sound decoder installed. When I opened up Decoder Pro to change the address there are no options for the V5 decoder. It has options for V4 and earlier. Am I missing something?
