Vallejo Paint or Acrylic Paint and the Chesapeake & Ohio

So I model the C&O in HO in the late summer early fall of 1943, in the New River Gorge.  As part of this I model Quinnimont WV.  As such i have a lot of C&O buildings most of which are laser cut kits  (thanks BTS) the issue is they all need to be painted in the C&O triple grey paint scheme.  Featuring three grey colors all in the green grey range.  I have back burnered the paint for a while now but it is holding me up.

Athearn Screw Up? Nit Pickers and Rivet Counters? This is why models cost too much.

Screw Up, Nit Pickers, Rivet Counters?  Is this why models cost too much?

I have seen this in other hobbys too.
Me being a professional museum model builder for military vehicles and aircraft.
ABC Model Co. would change models every know and then in a real cheap way. Just changing or drop
more decals into the a box. Now that F-104 can be made into a German or Canadian F-104.
But as soon as that happens rivet counters flip out. The German F-104 had this the Canada F-104
looked like that etc. etc. it is the same model just with new decals. Should people be happy

More photo lamination

Second attempt at photo lamination. I think this came out pretty good.

Roads to nowhere

One of the nice things about our hobby is that if you get tired of working on one area you can do something else. Such is the case this very hot Florida weekend when I decided to lay down a couple of streets. Using some tips from a past post I found here on MRH on building concrete roads, my first step was to spray on a coat of flat aircraft grey, which as it turns out is almost a concrete color. Then when that had dried I used Woodland Scenics concrete top coat over it and let that dry. Then with a fine tip marker added the tar crack patches. Good so far.

The future of Yahoo Groups

I am sure some of your received Bob's email today.  I hope Bob will not mind that I posted it below.  I think everybody should be aware.

??? Problem with M.E. weathered code 70 track

Patina on M.E.Code 70 weathered trackHas anyone had this problem with M.E. weathered code 70 track.

I have been setting up a diorama to tune my scenery skill, (at the moment I don’t have the space for even a small layout). I am also trying to improve my painting/weathering skills.

What is your hobby budget goal?

Just sitting here contemplating the amount of money and time I have been putting into the latest build of the yard for my FreemoN group.  Most of the money has come from the group, so that is not a concern.  The time has been a pleasure (even though it frustrates at time), but it has been taking up pretty much all of my hobby time.  Not to say that I haven't diverted to working on other things while I let stuff congeal in my brain.

Durango press

Hi all, was just considering some of durango press, MOW equipment. But wondering if the kits are plastic or some kind of cast metal?

Has anyone built any of them, and can show some pics of Assembly and or finished?
Really appreciate any thoughts at all, thanks!
