Some Chesapeake, Wheeling & Erie Video

After seeing the recent thread about posting videos to the forum, I finally bit the bullet and got an HD video camera. I read through the short tutorial the Questions and Answers page under the Help tab on the MRH website and figured out how to embed them into a post. So here goes.

First up, we see COXL 41 (COal EXtra Loads- North Pierce, WV to Hunters Bay, VA) emerging from Logan Tunnel heading east out of Hollister Yard at North Pierce.

that's something classic... 4'x8' in N scale

Hi to all,

first, I beg your pardon... english (or american english...) is not my native language!

Second, I've now ended the trackwork for a layout I'm building... Yes, it's the classic and conventional 4'x8' (ok, it is, 1,25 x 2,50 m if someone is reading the post from my side of the Atlantic!).

Here is the test train travelling on the layout.

A Photo Track Plan

Hello all.  I just wanted to give some of you a heads up that I posted a photo track plan to my blog.  I know several have asked to see some sort of a track plan to give a better idea what the overall railroad looks like.  I don't have a drawing but thought some high above photos would do the trick.  I know how things can get buried into a blog and lost.  So, if you're interested, it's there.  Thanks!

Western Pacific 8th Subdivision Video

Rob says he doesn't do video so that leaves us with no choice but to do it for him! Enjoy.

For you Apple Retina Display owners there is a HD version on YouTube. You're welcome.

Western Pacific 8th Subdivision Layout Tour

Progress on the layout has slowed for the moment due to some ongoing projects like adding a basement bathroom and crew lounge.  Since I've received several requests for a walk-around tour kinda thing, I'm shamelessly cribbing from what Tom Johnson has done on his L&IN photo thread.  As I go, I'll explain how a few things operate, as well as some of the design decisions.

What's Old is New Again, Or At Least Recycled

The last few days I've spent in the train room pulling stuff apart, cleaning up and organizing in preparation for the "next one."  Its given me time to reflect on lots of lessons learned, as well as how little the chainsaw actually cost me in dollars.
