Layout tour
Back to HO after 20+ Years
Well I have successfully ebay'd completely all of my N-scale related stuff. All rolling stock, loco's, scenery, structures and structure flat scenes. So after deleting a sizeable layout I decided that a small (8 x 10) along the wall HO switching layout would be in order.
The Opoma Sawmill and Machinery
Some months ago I posted some pictures of my sawmill machinery fresh from Shapeways. Since then it has been installed into the Opoma Sawmill on my Springwater Sub and I thought I'd show you how it's working out. The machinery is in, the overhead belt drive system is installed and the lights are on, after this a lot of sawdust and woodchips and some detail parts and I'll have myself a sawmill!

N&W Pocahontas District: First Mainline Run
Now that the bench work, track work, and wiring are finally completed on my layout, I can finally run some real trains again, instead of just shifting things back and forth. I've been playing around with the car cards and waybills I'll be using for operating sessions in the near future, but thought I'd take a break and make my first video of the completed mainline run.
For those who have been following my posts up to this point, thanks for your comments and encouragement. I hope the wait to this point was worth it.
Proof that water runs down hill - but this river flows North into Lake Superior
This river and small waterfall is right near my house. Off to the side is a hydroelectric plant built by Westinghouse for Henry Ford so he could build a plant and make wooden car parts, back in the day. They had a camp up here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for hunting, fishing and poker. Many big names came and went from that camp.
My very small layout...
