Respirator Filter Uses and Choice
Hi,
It looks like safety has been getting a little more attention recently on this forum. I'm looking to finally join the crowd and get a mask to protect my lungs. Do you think these filters would work for general layout needs:

DCC Installation Tip for easy troubleshooting...........
I recently installed DCC sound in an O scale NWSL 2-8-2T "Minaret" * which I had previously made modifications to the driveline as well as doing a complete paint job. As I was doing the mods and paint I frequently checked the running characteristics by connecting leads to the motor with DC. When I do any DCC install I always put plugs on the motor and track power leads alternating male and female plugs. Respirator Filter Working Life
Can anyone advise what the working life of a respirator filter should be? I have bought a 3M respirator with their 6000 series organic filter cartridges. But I can't figure out how long they will be good for. There is a calculator on 3M's website, but to use it you have to do air sampling and figure out the PPM of the contaminants; I haven't got the least idea what values to enter.
