Gluing metal to metal

I'm scratchbuilding some pipes using .030" & .040" metal and styrene rod and various brass castings from PSC.

In some cases, I can bore the casting and push the pipe through (like a valve). Other times, I have dimpled the end of the brass casting (an elbow for example) and rounded the end of the wire and then attempted to super glue the two together. Suffice to stay, this does not make a good joint. It either breaks right off or remains connected but "floppy".

So what is the best way to connect the two? Thanks.

What do you think about this chain?

What do you, the MRH community, think of this chain I am evaluating as a possible product?

On the top is Builders In Scale #250 40LPI chain
On the bottom is a much lighter chain I have been able to source.

Here are both chains shown on a model:

Rounding a corner on the BNML... the beginning of backdrops!

I'm beginning to work on the backdrops on my BNML. In this blog post I will share how I create the first of many curved corners on the layout.

I'll be starting on the Morris - St Jean curve. This is the long sweeping curve in the North East corner of my layout.
The Morris - St Jean curve is marked with a red arrow on the plan below.
