Winter Break 2016-17 Progress

Well, with this year's winter break coming to a close, it's about time to share an update of the progress I've made on my layout. Granted, my layout has no physical existence quite yet. My depiction of the Long Island Rail Road in February of 2014 has yet to take on any benchwork or even a track plan, so there is only a handful of projects I can work on. Space is the issue here; I can work on pretty much anything that can be easily stored. So while I've been home from college, I've essentially been working on more weathering projects.

I decided to get back into the mix and review some laser cut wood kits. The first is a real nice craftsman kit. But as they say, don't take my word for it. See for yourself. In this video I review Carolina Craftsman kits version of the Plaisto Post Office.

The other post in the forum was supposed to be on my blog. Instead I will link that post here Carolina Craftsman kit build

sign aging

Hi everyone. I have made some advertising decals on clear inkjet decal paper to apply to buildings for a 1800's diorama. I aged the wood using the "ink wash" but trying to work out how to 'age' the decals as well without damaging them. Any ideas? Thanks

Tree Help

Shortly before Christmas, I found a helpful video on YouTube for making N scale evergreen trees.

I'm at the point where I need to start making trees as I haven't found many ready made trees that look good (in N scale that is) so I decided to try the technique in the video.

I attached some pictures in the first response below.
