The surprises of shooting macro
I'm taking photos of some Gunderson 5188 covered hoppers in HO from ScaleTrains.com, and one of the lenses I use is a Tokina 100mm macro.
Macro lenses don't miss a thing.
You really don't see the fine details in the itty-bitty screen on the back of the camera, but when you bring that photo up, properly cropped, in Photoshop on a 4K screen, even a 15.6" laptop one... well. You see what the camera saw.
Like this odd threadlike thing on the front hopper bin that I'll have to go back and look at the model to see what it is:
O scale structure builds - card, plastic, wood - the cheaper the better!
Hi everyone.
I am currently working on a few layout builds in O and On30 scales, and have been building, scratchbuilding, and kitbashing structures to go with them.
Rather than spread the builds out over multiple layout threads, I thought I'd create a single thread for those interested in seeing what I've been working on.
I mostly work in wood, foamcore and cardstock, with some plastic kits and parts as well.

Winterrail 2018
I'm attending Winterrail for the first time this year I had occasionally thought about going when it was in Stockton, California, but after it moved to Corvallis, OR I had no choice - to miss a nationally known event when it was 30 or so miles away was not an option Still I managed to until this year
