The Rainbow Desert
Time for another one shot photo-story on the Thunder Mesa website. As the sun sinks low it becomes clear why some folks call this the Rainbow Desert.

Cornhill & Atherton - The Locomotive Roster story
This is the latest paint and weather job - C&A’s number 3 locomotive.
It started life as a Bachmann “Russian Iron” in mint condition dcc fitted, which I got on eBay for somewhere around a ludicrous 45 dollars. No one else was bidding – right time/right place I guess.
Other than fitting a tender light and replacing the decoder (and painting of course), I haven’t made any changes.

Day's End at Big Thunder Falls
Engine #1, the Marc F. Davis hauls a load of supplies to the mines as the last rays of the sun light up Big Thunder Falls. Backdrop and atmospheric effects added with Adobe Photoshop, all else as modeled.
