Problems with Walthers Proto GP30

I have a set of Walthers Proto GP30s with tsaunmi sound decoders.  I received them over a year ago as a  present from my wife.  I programmed them with JMRI and placed them on the layout.  They are consisted.  They ran and sounded great.

N Scale Turntable connection and Use

Hello all, I am new to DCC and to N scale.  I am working on my layout now and want to add a Atlas 2790 7 1/2 turntable.  I will have a round house that will house 3 locomotives.  Here are my questions:

1:  The turntable runs off DC power.  How is the track on the turntable powered as I will have a DCC layout?

2:  If I turn the TT 180 degrees (to reverse the locomotive) do I need a reverse loop controller like the Digitrax AR1

How to get started using Arduino equipment?

I been looking for past post topics of how get started in learning and using the Arduino equipment. From all you experienced users whats the best way to get started. I used to know my way around programing back in the days of turbo pascal fortran rpgii cobol..and some industrial plc programing. Trying to learn jmri now. But its been 20 years. Ive seen some starter kits. What do some of you recommend????

Layout Update - 3 Nov 2015: Running Trains & Final Planning

This is the layout update for early November 2015. The wiring for the Paradigm to Union Station yard limit section (soldering feeders, connections to terminal strips, and connections to the main bus) has been completed. A DCC test of this section of power district 2 has also been successfully completed.  All of the tracks, including sidings, in the new section have been fully tested with DCC without any issues.

This picture shows the area where the DCC wiring has been completed.

DCC turntable wiring

I have a complex and, I believe, rather unique question about DCC.  I am a tinkerer and plan to build my own locomotive turntable.  The turntable will not have a reverse loop controller.  The question I have is if I supply DCC separately to the track that is on the turntable, soldering wire to each side of the track, when the table turns 180 degrees I will have a continuity issue (having created a reverse loop).  However if I have an on/off switch to the rails on the turn table and switch it "off" and have a second on/off  DCC powered switch with the wirin

Computer DCC

This is probably a stupid question.

As I mentioned elsewhere I recently fried my poor Digitrax Zephyr. So, I'm looking for a replacement. One compatible with the Digitrax decoders I've already installed in several locomotives. And one that is not too expensive!
