Digitrax LNWI Fears

I would like any and all feed back regarding the use of the LNWI access point on Digitrax DCC Systems. I have many layout owners in my operations group that are leary of the use of any smart phone use on their layouts. They think the smart phone operators can corrupt or change settings in their Digitrax DCC system.

Status of upcoming TCS DCC system

Is there any updated info on the development or planned availability of TCS' new DCC system? Did anyone happen to attend the TCS clinic at the Amherst show last weekend and get some hands-on experience?

Econami question

Hi  All,  I installed an Econami 2 amp PNP in one of my S scale engines tonight and when testing it I noticed that a small flashing light pulses inside the shell in the area of the board for about 30 seconds after the power is shut down. I'm wondering if that has something to do with the current keeper bleeding off it's stored power? Engine and sound seem to work fine. Any Econami users noticed anything similar( it might be hard to see it with the engine all buttoned up, I had the removable dynamic brake panel off for testing)  BTW.

SMA32 - JMRI Does DC ! …with up to 4-8 WiFi or JMRI DC Cabs

There are many modelers who for various reasons, use DC throttles to control the locos and trains on their layouts. What if you could combine the simplicity of a DC throttle with the sophistication of JMRI control, signaling, sensors, and even WiFi throttles? Yup! WiFi throttles for DC train control! …and what if you could  put such layout control together for less than the cost of an old dual throttle power pack? Interested? Let’s see how it can be done!

SMA31 - 15 Amps Plus of Raw Power for DCC++

Every once in a while there is a need for something a bit more than the 1-2 Amps of DCC power that the typical DCC++ combination of the Arduino plus motor shield can deliver. With a separate H-Bridge driver board and your Arduino Uno or Mega2560 you can put out a DCC signal with 15 Amps of power. Let’s see how you can do it.

Colorado Front Range RR - Jan 2019 update

Yes I got the Sensors on line and running in JMRI....Tips on wiring, a look at the JMRI panel, and a question from a viewer 3D printing vs Laser cutter. Hope it is helpful to someone.

Happy Modeling

HO Precision Craft FA1/FA1 – back/back or elephant style?

In the mid 2000s, Precision Craft Models made an HO scale FA1/FA1 model with ESU LokSound DCC. The pair of models only had one decoder which controlled both units via jumper wires, thus the two units needed to be operated as a pair.

As manufactured by Precision Craft, were these FA1/FA1 pairs wired to run back-to-back, or elephant style? I'm guessing back-to-back since that was probably where the jumper wires were.

Wiring Best Practices

HI Folks:  Im getting ready to do some more track feeders this weekend, as well as re-working a section of my staging area over the next couple weeks / months.  When I started the layout I was not careful about my wire runs etc, and now have a rats nest, so I am going to be re-working all the DCC Feeders etc to make it neat and functional.  I'd like input on hows best to do it, in terms of routing wires and keeping them neat.  any pics you can post would be appreciated as well

Thanks

Show your Command/Control Station Mounting Techniques...

I am getting a Digitrax Zephyr command station for my small layout and was wondering how to mount it. Should I use a drawer or a frame attached to the fascia? I am looking for ideas. Please show them with photos!

Here's one idea I like...
