Question on Keep Alive. Capacitor vs Decoder
I was thinking about purchasing a keep alive for one of my locomotives. Can some one please tell me the difference between a Keep Alive Capacitor and a Keep Alive Decoder? On the web site I am shopping, I communicated with the shop via email. He recommended two different Keep Alives. One listed as a keep alive capicitor and the other a decoder. The product descriptions are identical.
I plan on installing this on an Athearn Genesis MP15AC if that means anything...like space issues and such.

Powering a Plastic Frog Turnout
I saw this discussion on another forum, so I'll just quote the opening premise,...
With all these discussions of powering frogs I got to thinking...
Has anyone tried to use a conductive silver pen to create a circuit on a plastic frog?
Could the plastic frog conceivably be coated with the conductive material and a wire then attached between the coated frog and polarity switch.
A down-side to this might be the durability of the conductive material as the wheels pass over it.
NCE Light-It decoder Functions
I just installed a NCE Light_it decoder into one of my cabooses.

Sensor Part Minus 1
Is is a Video on sensors, this is about types of sensors that can be used on both DC or DCC. If you ever wanted to do sensors or add block occupier light on you control panel this is part one of or minus 1. ( I did one last month but this will be a broader look at sensors.) I look at more types but the 4 shown here I think are the most useful. 3 can be used on DC and DCC one is for DCC alone.
Hope this is helpful if you are looking into sensors and what can I use.

Keep Alive in BLI SW7 with SQI decoder
I have installed KA3 KEep Alive circuits from TCS in several BLI SW7s. These are older models and the QSI circuit board is marked (c) 2003 QSI Quantum.

OLED Display with JMRI
Hello,
I'm running JMRI with DCC++ and two Ardunios. One for the Train Track and the other one for Sensors, turnouts and diverse outputs.
All is running very well and I control the Trains only on the Windows Machine, where JMRI is running on one Panel (see Link for Picture).
My question is: Is here a possibility to give some Messages from the Memories Table parallel to an extern Oled Display which can connected
from the Serial2 Interface from the Arduino Mega.
Maybe someone has realized it already and can give me some input.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Flexible Wire
I have a Rapido Angus Van and it's performance is hideous. It derailed going around a 22" radius curve. My research indicates that it is due to the inability for the truck to rotate. I have clipped off some detail but it is further hindered by the electrical pickup system. A fellow showed me how to mitigate this by making a modification but I'm still not happy so I removed all pickup and it works great. I'd like to try to get it to work with more flexible wire either 30 or 32 gauge.
Demo of Digitrax SHABC dual head signal
I haven't seen any demos of the new Digitrax signals, so I made one:
NCE - MRC Controller Compatability
Hi,

I'm just Curious - Raspberry Pi
How many other folks out there have hooked up a Raspberry Pi to their layout? I went from an NCE PowerCab to a Pi-Sprog and am really enjoying it. I am using an old iPhone, that I got from one of my kids, as a dedicated throttle. My favorite part is being able to stand across the room, watching my train, and still having control.
