Upper level access to model buildings
While building a row of store front buildings for a small downtown scene on my layout, I noticed none of the two and three story buildings I chose had any visible means of access to the upper floors on the front of the building. Normally there would be an entry way door to one side or the other of the first floor business, but none of the buildings I have built have one. I have six different building models, not one has a door for upper floor access. My buildings are all kits from either Woodland Scenic’s/DPM or Walthers Cornerstone.
What to do with Wine Bottle Corks
Over the years the wife would have a glass of wine red to be exact, so now have 30-40 wine bottle corks to do something with. I model in HO and like to do something with one or more corks, regardless of scale like to hear suggestions "how" these could be used around a Railroad?

Silver rattle can paint for Amtrak
I'm looking for a rattle can silver paint. I have several F7s and passenger cars from various makes. All seem to use the same or really close shade of silver paint. The automotive paints don't look right because of the metal flakes. Basically looking for a color like Amtrak Platinum Mist to use for Santa Fe,New York Central and Amtrak. I want to paint some F7 unpainted shells and some passenger cars I Removed paint from to reasonably match other cars and locos Have not tried any Testors cans yet.
Paper Mills anyone?
I couldn't find any other topics dedicated to building Paper Mills but feel free to delete this thread and point me in the right direction if one already exists. I'm currently building a switching layout centered around a Paper Mill for which I've posted more details on my blog page.
Before I get into any more specifics however, I wanted to see if there are many others who have modelled or would like to model paper/pulp industry structures. If so I'd live to hear about it!

How to stiffen the fabric they give you for fencing
Hi People, I need help again if possible.
I recently purchased Walther's electrical sub-station and with the kit comes a fabric similar to wedding tulle. Do any of you have any thoughts on how to make the fabric a little more rigid to facilitate installing it on the fence.
I have tried starch but it doesn't work very well so I'm open to suggestions. Thanx Steve Klein
