Demolition Begins (and ends 12/6)

I finally took the plunge and started tearing down Penn Lake 7.

First to go were the peninsulas .  I forgot how much room there was in the center with out them.

Interchange Yard

A little update on the interchange yard. Added a yard tower, scale house, and lots of details. Still need to add a few more details and give everything a light weathering.

Quebec & New England HO Layout

Hello

I have received numerous requests from my YouTube subscribers (QNERailroad) to post my layout's track plan, so I thought I'd give this forum a try. I don't know how well it will show up, but here goes. I added some colour to the visible level track plan to make it a little more readable. It's not perfect. It still needs scenery/ground cover and a hint of ballast, but that requires more time than I can spare at the moment. The hidden staging track plan includes the two helices. Enjoy.

Touring the Nashville Road

Hi All,

I never posted this link to this forum after I made the video and posted it to YouTube for the 2012 National Convention in Grand Rapids, MI.  I was hosting several op sessions for the OpSig group during the convention and thought a tour before they arrived would be helpful.  I'm adding it in case you have never seen it and maybe interested.

Progress continues on the Colorado Front Range Railroad.

1) Results of my test running diesel locomotives versus steam locomotives pulling up the ruling grade. Maybe not what you expected my Broadway Limited 2-10-2's vs SD9's
The winner pulled 6.4 lbs up the 1.2% grade (with a curve)

2) John got much of the electronics figured out to this week including our block detectors.

3) Sean got a little more track laid and the entire sub roadbed for the yards in Denver.

answer to the blog question and problems that I posted early:

what should I put over plywood

I am just getting started in the hobby I have set up a piece of plywood for the start, what should I put on top of this that would allow me to put in scenery , that is fairly inexpensive due to being on a fixed income Or is the plywood ok to plant scenery on

Sugar Cane layout by Jack Luyt this one has animation.

I found this one while looking at videos for HOn3 layouts.  This is very well done.  He models the tropics very well.

world's biggest model railroad.???

Stumbled across this article on a from the Daily Mail in the UK on The Northlandz model railroad, in Flemington, New Jersey built by Bruce Williams Zaccagnino and his wife over a 16 year period.

TWMRC

This is an update on Art Houston's video of the Texas Western Model Railroad Club.   The TWMRC has moved to a  new location in Forrest Hill off of Forest Hill drive.   The track, switches ,buildings and electronics were saved, none of the scenery.  Ft Worth is the center of the layout with track running to Houston and maybe St Louis and don't know about Denver.  The building owner passed away and the children want big money for the building from the train club.

TMTV September 2014 Edition - Act III

Barry you did a great job on my good friend Dick Joyce's layout, The Ingleside & Oakdale.

I wish we could have more of the Mylayout segments.

Great Job
