Twisting main DCC buss wires?
I'm getting ready to run my main DCC buss for my TOMA module. After watching videos and reading a book on layout out wiring, some guys twist the buss wires and some do not. Larry Puckett in his book "Wiring Your Model Railroad" shows photos with twisted buss wires, but doesn't say it is necessary in the text.
Walters NSC well car (3-unit)
I bought a 3 pack of these cars, but there is no drawbar to connect the 3 cars together. Are they supposed to come with one or do I have to get it separately?
There is a coupler on 1 end of 2 of the cars, that's it.
N Scale Layout
I got bored and decided to build a new N scale layout ......reusing most of what I kept over the years.
Benchwork is built by ripping a sheet of 1/2" Birch plywood into 3" wide strips....the sheet I started with was purchased from a local lumber yard that sells quality wood, not the crap that Home Depot or Lowes sells.
The strips are then cut to length for what is needed for a given part..........frames are 2' x 8' with a 1' x 2' tapered section added on 1 end.
What DC power supplies do folks use?
Just wondering what folks use on their layouts for providing power to switch machines, DCC accessories (reversers, controllers,...) structure lighting, etc. Do you prefer wall-warts or larger power supplies? How beefy a supply do you prefer (obviously related to layout size and number/type of powered devices)? Do you use any of the many computer power supplies? eBay or other sources? Anyone use the power supplies various DCC vendors sell for their systems for other than powering their boosters/command stations?
Digitrax DS64 output capacity
I have a Digitrax DS64 I would like to use to remotely operate a Walthers/Shinohara double crossover. The crossover will require 4 Tortoise machines to operate. I'd like to run all 4 Tortoise machines from the 001 output of the DS64. Can a single output of the DS64 drive 4 switch machines at the same time with no issues?
Thanks!
What kind of cable does MRC Prodigy use
Morning all. Does somebody know what type of cable is used on the MRC Prodigy? The cable that connects the handheld to the prodigy itself. I wanted to get some extension plates but they are out of stock. Started thinking it might be easier just to buy the pieces/parts and build it myself. Thanks.
Dropping a feeder
A recent thread discussed the need for feeder conduits in foam. The consensus was that permanent conduits are not necessary, but temporary conduits might make the installation go a little faster. Having occasion to add some feeders to the LT&SS, I thought I'd give it a try. Here is what I came up with.

Electronic Module Test Rig
I am by no means an expert in electronics, being a dabbler only, and thought I would post this as it may assist others in their experiments with electronic modules.
I needed a simple and versatile setup where I could test prototypes and assembled modules and came up with this idea that works well for me.
