RR-CirKits Users?
Hey all,
I'm curious if there are very many users of components from RR-CirKits? I don't find any support groups on Facebook or groups.io. I have used mainly Digitrax components in the past for detection, driving turnouts, and signals, but I am considering implementing some of the RR-CirKits components (I've already installed a couple of their WatchMan detection boards) and was wanting to find some support groups to bounce ideas off of.
Thanks,
Steve J.

A seriously expensive question……..
Many times while constructing modern electronic circuits using integrated circuit chips we are instructed to wear a ground strap around our wrist. This is to discharge any static electricity in our body to earth ground preventing any damage to these chips.
SMA38 Clarification of Servo Timing: A short Technical Correction to Almost Everything
I would like to share some info that I just became aware of, specifically regarding servo timing.
This is not quite my "normal" blog article, but I think it affects too many of my projects, so I include it here.
Decoder collection
During my transition from DC to DCC I have started a collection of mobile decoders. There was no actual plan for this, it sort of took on a life of its own as I tried decoders that failed to deliver the performance I'd hoped for so I put them aside.
I've definitely learned the CV programming now, and can get great performance out of certain decoders but not others in a given locomotive; so I don't think it's down to operator error.
Installing decoders on Decoder Buddys, important update.
It came to my attention today that there is an issue with installing the Decoder Buddy V5s with decoders that have less than 12 function outputs. The output pads with the higher numbers will not light LEDs and may damage the decoder if they are used.
-> If you have a 4 function decoder use pads A0F, A0R, A1 and A2.
-> If you have a 6 function decoder use pads A0F, A0R, A1, A2, A3 and A4.
-> If you have a 8 function decoder use pads A0F, A0R, A1, A2, A3, A4, A5 and A6.
MP5 Advanced Model Railway Turnout / Switch Motor and Digitrax DS64 Application Notes
I spied these little MP5 Motors a while ago while searching the web for a smaller solution to the venerable Circuitron Tortoise, and finally got around to ordering them on Feb 28, 2021. They arrived yesterday (March 12) from The Bay area to Vancouver, BC. Details below in next post. Canada Customs only added 5% GST and a $10 handling fee.
Impossible to connect to WiThrottle.
Hello and happy weekend!
Up to May last year I had JMRI in my laptop (with Windows 7) connected to my Digitrax DCS100 (from SuperChief) through a LocoBuffer USD. I programmed my almost 80 engines with JMRI and run them with my DT400 throttles and since early 2019 I made it WiFi with a Digitrax LNWi and Engine Driver and WiThrottle apps. Actually, I do not like much apps as I have to look at where I put my finger to control, a largely discuss problem in this forum!
Sound decoder sound is too weak
Bought version four TCS WOW sound decoder, comes default full volume. Just too quite to satisfy me. Anyone else have this problem?
