Scale Model Animation 6 – Down at the Dock Again and DCC Sound Advice?
Model animation—bringing models to life—adds enormously to the interest and enjoyment of any layout or individual model! This entry starts with taking a snapshot of my animation down at the dock and presents some experimentation with cell phone earpiece speakers with Digitrax and TCS WOW decoders.
Has DCC finally met its challenger?
Looks like the wireless revolution is starting. Could DCC be left in the dust?

programming decoders
Good afternoon all, new here. Looking for help programing BLI Paragon2 steam.
Any one experienced a "run away" ? I have had two locomotives do it. My buddy has had the same problem with three. An acquaintance had one. Cannot say for the acquaintance on his experience.
My bud and I use the NCE Power Cab. I do our programing with Decoder Pro 3. I have contacted NCE, and was advised to turn off the answerback sound and turn off BEMF. BLI advised, set that.
Ring and DCC Specialties Compatibility
I inquired with DCC Specialities about using their PSX-1 and PSX-AR in conjunction with Ring Engineering power supplies. Here is the response I received:
The RailPro system is a proprietary system supported only by Ring Engineering. It uses radio control rather than DCC and uses a DC voltage on the tracks. The PSX series will not operate with DC, it was designed for DCC.
DCC Wiring - Centralized or Decentralized?
I am currently planning how to distribute power (DCC) on my new layout (N-scale, 15' x 25'). I will be using 12 ga wire for the power bus and then to short sections of 18 ga to 20 ga for the track feeders. My question is how to distribute the power to the tracks from the power booster.
Replacing Athearn (MRC) sound decoder
Okay I've had enough!! I love Genesis units from Athearn I have four F-7’s and 2 F-3’s all of which the sound works but the locomotives just do not move anymore or at best start and stop driving me crazy. I've taken one apart and removed the MRC decoder and it runs perfectly like a watch.
Dirty track in DC vs DCC
Hi guys.
This thread is started because of another thread and did not want to hijack it.
Some have stated that DCC makes the track dirtier than DC. Someone in the club had noticed since the switch from DC to DCC we run almost twice the traffic. The track does get the black gunk but operationally runs great. It is true that running more trains will keep the dust down. Most members run metal wheels but there are a few diehards that run what came with the car. This will not change until they do.
