DCC - Electrical
DCC Specialties PSX intelligent circuit breakers
A quick question. Apparently these devices can work with a photo transistor so when a train breaks the light, the PSX shuts off power to the track/block.
It also says, power can be restored via a DCC command.
For all you guys (and gals) out there with PSX units, I'm assuming power could also be restored by hitting the manual reset button.
Is this a correct assumption?
Using 2 NCE power cabs on the same layout...
Hey everyone. Got a NCE DCC question. I know you can use 2 power cabs on the same layout. NCE directions say you can use youre power cab as a pro cab on the club layout. What i want to know is will it function as a 2nd power cab allowing me to use all the functions, or will they "fight for control" with each other? I am using the SB3 booster with the 5 amp power booster. Any hints will help.
Another Wireless Throttle Idea
So we're all familiar with my stance on the present buttonry and boondoggles already on the market. They're the epitome of 1989 technology, and even then, the technology was 10-20 years old. AKA, it's obsolete, the technology is practically an antique. When I see manufacturers investing money into things like the new DT402R series, I groan.
Signaling for DCC
How do you restart a DCC loco which has stopped at a signal without doing it manually? I think I read somewhere about switching sig. track to DC currant while train is stopped then back to DCC power when signal turns green. Can somebody please assist. If DC currant is applied then at what voltage?

DCC Sound for Mantua Mallet
Hi Folks
I need some advice on my first foray into DCC Sound.
I have an Ho Mantua 2-6-6-2 Logging Mallet (tender version) which is in the process of being super detailed.
I want to fit DCC sound and very much like the look of Soundtraxx Tsunami. Question is, for a small articulated should it be the medium or heavy steam version?
Oh sure - NOW you've started something!
Since I had such a good time making the maintenance video, I decided to chronicle my conversion of an older Atlas GP38M. I have been putting off this (and other) conversions for quite some time, as I really have no place to run the trains when I get them finished. Ah well, It's fun and something to keep me occupied...
installing decoders in n scale steam
I have some questions on wiring a 4-8-4 bachmann, Im thinking of putting the pc board from a spectrum in the tender and wiring the loco that way. it seems most n steam decoders are in the tenders I.m also curious about some good guides for ding this pretty inexperienced but have electrical knowledge any input is appreciated. I alos have some model power engines that need lights wired considering a backup as well, all in time.
Rechargeable 9v batteries
Has anyone tried using rechargeable 9 volt batteries in Digitrax UT4D and DT402D throttles? It sees to me it might be a good use for rechargeables. Any info would be appreciated.
edited: UT4D rather than DT4D. I knew it didn't look right. What I get for being in a hurry.
