DCC - Electrical

Digitrax Jump Port Technology

Does anybody out there know about this and just how does it work? My understanding is that it can work

with any dc throttle. Does anybody use this type of set up and how well doest work? Is this dated a little bit.

Running slower than expected.

I'm perplexed and have explored all angles and I can't figure it out. My locos have no zip. They run slow.

I have a Lenz LZV100 DCC system on a 7x11 point to point. I have no more than 30' of track. I bought a mulitmeter, and if I'm using it right, I get the same voltage across the layout (about 20). I even took the shell off a loco and measured the same voltage at the pick up wires. So, I'm satisfied my track is getting enough power. Track is clean, wheels are clean. This problem exists with all my motive power regardless of make, model or decoder.

what decoder?

I want to buy the athearn sw1500 DCC ready and install a decoder.

What decoders are avalaible?

Dual Frog Juicer

I just saw the new Dual Frog Juicer on FastTracks website.  I'm still not a DCC expert, but I need an autoreverser soon and this fills the bill at the same price as the AR1.  However, the bonus with the Dual Frog Juicer is you could also use it to power one of the following: 1. two frogs, 2. crossover, 3, wye, or 4. turntable or it can be used as a circuit breaker in a power district, though that's not all that important to me.  It can't do it all at the same time, but the flexibility is certainly something that is appealing at the same price point as the AR1.

DCC Bus Wire

Why not use the readily available uninsulated ground wire for bus wires, rather than fooling around stripping insulation or using crimp-on connecters? It would make soldering the feed wires for the track straight forward and easy. I ask this because I am dreaming up bench work and plan to build the bus wires in.

BDL168 Installation- Kamloops Division Point Staging Detection

Well, it's been a long time since I posted on my layout's progress... or lack of progress, whatever the case may be. I am hoping that posting my progress on my installation of the detection portion of my staging yard will keep me more motivated and hopefully I will complete this sooner than later.

Possessed DH 165AO decoder

I have a decoder that is doing something wacky.  It is a Digitrax DH165AO, installed in an Athearn blue box mechanism that has been remotored with an A-Line repower kit with a can motor.  The loco is prpbably over 15 years old and was previously equipped with a RailCommand decoder from my old command control system, so it was set up from the start with the proper motor/frame isolation for decoder installation.  Normally it runs great but...

Mike Train House Locomotive Problem

I am writing you for some help with my ho scale 2-8-4 locomotive. My engine derailed last night and as a result has lost it’s programing. Everything on the locomotive works except for the motor function. In other words it will not run on dcc. It is fine on dc power. I looked in my manual and did not see anywhere where the default setting are. I tried to program cv 55 to 55 but still would not run using DCC. This did happen before and one of the techs talked me through resetting the engine on the phone I think we did something with cv 17 & 18  and also 8.

Strange Sound Problem With my Blackstone K-27s

Hello Group.

I have a rather strange problem with my Blackstone K-27s.

First, the particulars.

I have a Digitrax DCS50 (Zephyr) command station.  I use the PR3 in standalone mode for programming.  I have a two foot test track that I connect to the PR3 and I use a Bachrus test stand.

Here is what I have done for K-27 #462 but I get the same results with all four of my K-27s..

prodigy with n-scale?

I'm switching from ho scale to n scale and I'm wondering if my MRC Prodigy system will work in n scale? I really like it and hope it works.

                    Thanks,
