Creating a 3D Print of an Illinois Traction System freight motor
After having successfully 3D printed an ITS Rodger's ballast hopper car, I needed something to pull it. Therefore I am attempting to create a 3D printed model of the Illinois Traction System's freight motors #1063-1067. The image below shows #1065 and then #1064. These are both from the collection of Mr. Dale Jenkins.
LifeLike P2000 GP7
Recently I tried to put into service a Lifelike P2000 GP7 which I bought about 20 years ago. It did not run although the motor hummed. On youtube I found a very good 10 min video dealing with non working Lifelike GP7s I followed what the author had to say and the locomotive now runs. However, it does make a loud thumping sound. I have checked the axles and they are not split.
Can somebody point me in the right direction ?
A TRAIN TOO LONG
A train Too long. Has anyone else doe this?
One afternoon while messing around on the layout, I had to add a locomotive to a train to pull the two and a half percent grade. My layout is built mainly for switching with a rather short main line run. A normal train for me is around a dozen cars which one of my old original Atlas Alco units can easily handle.

Weathering of rolling stock - EASY, Low cost & Reversible
Hi!
I visited a friend of mine who´s got his entire rolling stock weathered using a very simple and low cost routine. I kind of figure that it´s a really good routine to get started on weathering.
SP Commuter Cars

Firecat Designs 3D Printed NSH90V Flat Car
Just thought I would post a photo of my recently completed National Steel Car NSH90V 89' flat car. The shell is 3D printed from Firecat Designs. It sits on a Walthers chassis, and the following have been added. Plano coupler cut bars, grab irons with bolt castings, underslung train line hoses, full brake gear, Kadee 100 ton trucks, Grandt Line stake pockets, cribbing with scratchbuilt brackets, home made decals, microscale TTX logo, and a BLMA models pipe load. Enjoy and have a great day.
