Using JMRI Operations - A worked example - Part 4

In this blog entry, I correct some mistakes and then start to take a look at schedules and custom loads.

My previous blog postings on this are: part 1, part 2 and part 3.

As always, I am indebted to the folks at JMRI for producing such a great, free program. You can find the JMRI web site here.

Wireless fast clocks

Apologies for doubling up the posts on this, but I thought this was an area that might be of interest beyond just my blog, and didn't want it to get lost in the discussion there.  I recently became aware of a new wireless fast clock system from Iowa Scaled Engineering that I thought others might benefit from as well.  Details are in the blog entry at http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/9031?page=4#comment-86082 .

MS Access Waybill Generator

Greetings and happy holidays.

Over the last couple years I have been toying with the concept of creating 1/4 sized waybills that could be used as, instead of, car cards.  After several fits and starts I have completed a modification of my existing MS Access car card and waybill generator to become a waybill generator.

2013 Goals for your Railroad Modeling?

In December 2011 Rick Wade started a thread on goals for 2012. http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/6579

I thought it would be interesting to review my goals and see what I accomplished toward those goals. And also look at what I had done that wasn't included in my goals.

Optimum train length on medium to larger layouts

Hi all,

Just as I have put down the last bit of track on my very small N scale shelf layout, the wife has ideas of moving house in the coming year. It's a shame to start over again and not completing what I have build so far but I also look forward to a larger area to work in. Currently I have about 290cm long shelf, 30cm wide with the small leg of the letter L coming off on one end, giving me 80cm to curve around.
