Arduino for Peco ladder
I have read Dr. Bunza's article on using an Arduino and servos to control a yard ladder. I was wondering if I can use a Arduino mega with a motor shield to drive Peco switch machines.
Thanks for any help...Ken
Railroading Books - Real and Model
Michael T. had a post about the Scenery book of his youth and the new found copy. I got to thinking about my books and thought I'd share them. I added the covers to Imgur and was going to share them, but thought it would be a major task with 174 of them! Instead, here is a single graphic with the thumbnails!
Signal Question
I am looking for some advise on signal aspect options for this control point. The plan is to have a two track main going down to a single track main that runs behind the yard into a staging yard. As for the two signals on the far left by the road crossing I am not worried about those as they are pretty standard aspects. Signal one and two are pretty much the same as the left two. It is signal three that is confusing me.
The two inside tracks both lead into the freight yard and there would be no more signals used to the right of these shown.
UPDATED: Team track infrastructure choices
Hi all,
I am considering adding a team track to my layout, having some empty space between the mainline and the aisle on a specific module (9" x 3' approximately).
Protothrottle speed curve
I'll buy a Proto Throttle relatively soon based on the great feedback I've seen here on the forums. Tim Garland had written an article addressing a number of custom settings including momentum and deceleration curves. What I can't seem to find is mid- and max-speed settings.
What have others found to be good speed settings? Are you doing min/mid/max or a custom curve? What values are you using?
i'm trying to get to the most prototypical settings and would appreciate any help anyone can offer.

IAIS's West End - Rolling stock by the numbers
Best case, this is probably only going to be of interest to others who are afflicted with a level of OCD similar to my own , but I thought I'd post it anyway just to see if I'm alone in my thinking.
