Resin creep, Buidings not sitting in ground..Fusionfiber saves day :)

Small shelf module....
We do the resin water pour first using caulk as a dam for the pour.

While slightly sticky the reeds and water grasses, logs are placed into resin.  Once dry the tinted fusionfiber is spread down to the waters edge.

Stirrups

Does anyone know if these type of stirrups are manufactured in HO in brass?

Logging Caboose

I recently acquired a logging caboose for my freelanced logging line, the Two Hats Lumber Company, from Emmett at loggingcars.com. It was the first car I got from him, and it's a terrific model. I also got a water tank car, and the detail is wonderful. The cars come fully assembled, but unpainted, raw wood. I removed the trucks, and spray painted and weathered the caboose. The base color is caboose red. I then repainted the detail parts. Finally, I lettered it with custom decals and weathered it with an air brush.

Sculpting banks using clay

Any tips or ideas for using clay to make banks for layouts. Fell free to post any helpful comments to help me and others get started.

Getting Started on Modeling

Hello, I am new to model railroading. My track is wired and operational. How do I get started with modeling? I already have a few built structures, I am wondering about groundcover. Do you use clay?

Details: My RR is in Pennsylvania/New York in a valley

ACI placement

Could someone help me in suggesting where I would put an ACI label on this hopper.

I'm doing this from an iPad so I can't attach a pic, but here is a link to the image:

A work caboose for the Bradford Valley Lumber Co.

Hi all,

I've started kitbashing a work caboose for my On30 Bradford Valley Lumber Co. layout, to complete my work train.  I wanted a model that looked like it had been built in a backwoods workshop.  After learning that Boulder Valley Models makes cast resin baggage car sides, I decided to combine these with a Bachmann short caboose to get the car I wanted.

Here's what I started out with:

What sort of rail service would Dog Food Company have?

Guys I need some help trying to figure out where to go with this.  Its sort of a tong in cheek idea.  I have a little town I am going to build called Porterville.  Its named after my Black Lab "Porter".  I want to have a Dog Food pant there.  In nearby Meadville Pa. we have Dads Dog Food plant.  I watched them bring in grain and unload it.  But I want to add in livestock to my operations.  So we are taking in grain and live animals.....of all sorts.....!
