Rail Fanning on the Pokey
After installing some new LokSound decoders in my engines I decided it was high time to play! I set up three trains on the layout and just let 'em run around and around the mainline loop. Made me feel like a kid again, although my wife suggests I never stopped being one! (Ouch!)
Just for fun I decided to video some of the proceedings. It's nothing spectacular, but I hope it will in some small way share the fun I was having with the rest of you.
The sections as they are now.
Here are the sections in their present state:
Cardigan Jct Yard
Interstate I-694 overpass
Arden Hills Mn.
Even More (at-home) 3D Printing for the Layout (N-Scale) - the Passenger Waiting Room
Penn Lake 8: The Bourbon River Sub - Main Line (Updated 11/10/18)
Penn Lake's Bourbon River Subdivision is the Main Line of the railroad. The double track line connects the helix from Lampson Yard and the future helix to the Anthracite Subdivision. The modeled portion passes through two towns and three interlockings.
Ken Ehler's Pandora and San Miguel
Last Weekend the NMRA Indian Nations Division had our 8th Annual Kayout Design and Operations Meeting. Part of the weekend is operating some of the beautiful layouts we are privieledged to have In and Around Tulsa.
On Sunday I operated on Ken Elhers Pandora and San Miguel Sn3 RGS layout. This layout is not only a beautiful work of art but also fun to operate. I was the Ridgeview operator which starts off operating Pass #7 from Rico to Ridgeview and the wors as the local operator there.
Following are som pix I took with my iPhone.
A Shelf Layout In Gauge One. Ontrax Exhibition Part 2.
The Ontrax exhibition is held at the Dutch National Railway Museum in Utrecht and as you can see, there are models everywhere - and real trains, too! It is a very special atmosphere for a model railway event.
Trenton Subdivision -Grain Elevator and Co-op
One of the "Must Haves" on my layout has been a co-op and grain elevator. I am fortunate that there is one located near to my home and I have been able to study the track arrangement and operations at the co-op. The blog discusses how I have incorporated the features of the prototype into my layout.
