Building a layout for a client in his 3rd-floor game room based on Monticello, NY in late 1950's/early 60's:
More layout pictures
First a little heads up on the structures on the layout.Mostly all are scratch built using either DPM wall units, sheet styrene or wood. I also tried to scratch build as many other things that I could including truck and flat car loads, and other details. I also kit bashed a lot of my truck details such as adding wood decks and on trailers various lengths and wheel arrangements.
Some pictures of my layout
When I first designed the layout I had intended freight cars in and out to come off the main line but then I got interested in car float operations so I add one to the layout. the float and tug are scratch built with the addition of some commercial castings
My HO Hobbs End switching layout
The industrial park had it existed would have been located in Warren County,NJ alongside of the Delaware river. When I first designed it I had intended for freight traffic to be handles from the main line but as time went on I discarded that idea and instead installed a small (4 railcar) car float.
The first tw pictures are of the track plan and a long shot of the layout looking north. Please excuse the grainy pictures.Have yet figured out how to get rid of that.

The Sierra Lines HO
Operations session at Art Cunningham Sierra Lines during Hograils 2015. This is really one of the great operational layouts I have been on. Best part is hearing the whole story of what happened to get the five RRs into one track. Part I and II
Sierra, El Paso & Northeastern Railroad HO
