Could use a little advice with N scale

Hey everyone!  Names Dennis and I've finally decided after a long time to Design a new layout and could use some, any, advice haha.  I've always built small basic layouts in HO that I could roll under my bed and taught myself everything over the past threw Trial and Error.  I've come to the decision I want to put my collection of N scale trains into a home on a large layout rather then stored in boxes.  I'm also looking into investing in a NCE power cab system and start running DCC, but ill worry about that once i have track.  Ultamitly I'm wanting to build a m

Easy Model Railroad Inventory Upgrade

A new version of Easy Model Railroad Inventory has been released. I believe this release has a number of additions that have been requested.

Easy Model Railroad Inventory Easy Model Railroad Inventory - Potential Addition #5

Easy Model Railroad Inventory currently allows users to make a copy of an existing rolling stock and locos record. Would this type of functionality be useful with:

1. Structures?

2. Library?

3. Electronics?

4. Consignee/Destination?

5. Add image field to library maintenance? Picture of the book.

Please respond for each selection. Yes or no only, for example 1. No, 2. Yes. If you respond maybe that will be counted as a no.

Easy Model Railroad Inventory Easy Model Railroad Inventory - Potential Addition #4

End date. A new field in addition to the build and rebuild dates. This could be used to note when the item was sold or scrapped by the railroad. Not by you!

Please respond for each selection. Yes or no only. If you respond maybe that will be counted as a no.

JL&T Railway Blog - How to video episodes...

 Hi All,

I posted a couple of short videos the other day after a request about short management on another thread, so after some favourable feedback and wanting to help others I've decided to take the next step.

I am going to produce a series of "How to for Model Railroaders" videos based around the building of the JL&T Railway.  If everybody enjoys the series and I have the blessing from MRH, I will produce a wide variety of topics of the process from building our layout.

Using syringes to apply CA

I need to apply minute amounts of super glue and I'm thinking of using a hypodermic syringe to apply thin CA cement?  But I have a few questions.  Does anyone have experience doing this?  Will the syringe dispense the glue before it dries?  Will the CA dissolve the rubber seal on the syringe or the barrel?  Can the needles and syringes be cleaned with Acetone to allow them to be reused?  Can I buy and use "regular" type syringes I've found online?

Thanks ahead of time.

Diluted Glue Despensers

I do not like the woodland glue sprayer.  It shoots all over the place.  I have used an eye dropper which is very directed but it holds little glue and needs refilling constently.  I tride a Hobby Lobby bottel with a single spout which would be fine but it leaks like a sive.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Polishing Athearn Wheels

I have been reading a few posts on keeping Athearn locomotive wheels clean.  Here is my take on the matter.

Short of replacing the wheels with NWSL or others, I "polish" the wheels using Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish. I also have used Flitz Polish. (this one is a bit more abrasive and I use it for stubborn wheels)  (DO NOT do this on other brands of wheels as they are coated with chrome or nickle and you will rub it off defeating it's properties)

How to accomplish this:

Easy Model Railroad Inventory - Potential Addition #3

There has been a request to add wish lists for: rolling stock, locomotives and structures. More than likely it would be three different files.

What do you think? Vote Yes or No to help plan the future development of Easy Model Railroad Inventory.
