P2K tender conversion
For several years now I have had a Proto 2000 0-6-0 switcher. But now I am converting to DCC with sound, and I want to mount a high bass speaker under the coal load. My problem is that my loco has an oil bunker rather than the coal bunker I want. According to the exploded view diagram of the tender, these P2K models were designed to accommodate 4 different styles of fuel load: a Standard coal bunker, an Extended Height coal bunker, a Wood Sided coal bunker, and an Oil Storage tank.
520 class project
A few months ago, I was given a set of Rocky River Models' superb resin castings for the South Australian Railways 520 class 4-8-4. These were planned to be a kit, however after our local etching firm shut-up shop, the chassis part of the kit disappeared, and as such the project was dumped.
Driver axle slipping
Inherited N scale steam engines that kids pushed around track loosening axles in plastic centers. Can not keep drivers in quarter. Can not find a glue that will stick to the plastic. Any ideas?

scratch built G scale Class A Climax
Well I thought I share a build I have been working on. I originally purchased a kit of a Class A climax from Ebay to build as I liked the way it looked.
Well I got the kit and started building it. Needless to say, I wasn't very impressed. It had been opened and some of the wood parts were missing. But the overall quality of the kit just didn't impresseme.
Gear box.

Cornhill & Atherton - The Locomotive Roster story
This is the latest paint and weather job - C&A’s number 3 locomotive.
It started life as a Bachmann “Russian Iron” in mint condition dcc fitted, which I got on eBay for somewhere around a ludicrous 45 dollars. No one else was bidding – right time/right place I guess.
Other than fitting a tender light and replacing the decoder (and painting of course), I haven’t made any changes.

New product - Steam loco running board steps
I thought some folks might find these interesting or useful. I've created a set of running board steps (HO scale) to be 3D printed at Shapeways. They are based on Southern Ry. prototypes, though I suspect the same basic design was used by several railroads.
San Pablo Valley RR #20 (Another Blackstone C-19 Project)
Consolidation #20 is ready to join the roster. She started as a Blackstone diamond-stacked C-19 and received a lot of the same treatment #19 did. The most notable differences between the two are that #20 has a notably shorter smokebox and older-style headlight, in addition to an intermediate C-16 pilot rather than the plow.
Roundhouse 4-4-2 repair parts?
I'm trying to restore a Roundhouse 4-4-2 and need to locate some valve gear parts and rivets. Any ideas?
